Abstract
The idea for this book was prompted by the fact that the Irish have always had a great interest in the law. In 1798, before the Act of union, there were more barristers practicing in Ireland than there were in the whole of England (710 against 604). Members of the public rightly have an interest in how cases are conducted in our courts. In the talks reproduced here, the author has sought to give an insight into the workings of the courts having regard to the curiosities of the pubic.
